What do you say to someone just diagnosed with cancer?

The subjects I use when I write these blog posts are typically things that I am searching for answers to. This week's topic is no exception. This subject has been one that hits close to home, since my mother and grandfather both passed away from cancer, many years ago. The attached article by Margaux Austin, and published in the BCBS of NC Magazine, has some very practical suggestions. In summary, here are the points listed:

  1. Check in regularly and without expectations

  2. Drop off what you know they love

  3. Don't leave it up to them to ask for help

  4. Remember to check in past the diagnosis
